Award Sculpture

In keeping with our commitment to both fine art and film, the Carmel International Film Festival Award is truly a work of art. California Sculptor Gustavo Torres is the creative force behind the design. Torres’s signature style is evident in the graceful lines of an angel about to take flight. Torres, a native of Guadalajara, Mexico, shares his life and vision through sculpture fashioned in bronze, and he is both a talented fine artist and master craftsman. His visual imagery reflects the deep, quiet spirit of antiquity, and the rough finger work and carefully chosen patinas convey a worn, earthy presence. Festival organizers wanted an award that represented their commitment to art at all levels. Gustavo’s design delivered on that mandate – elevating the award to a work of art.
